Management Accountant

The role is responsible for producing accurate and timely financial processing, reconciliations, and reviews, which form the Management Information Pack. The finance team has grown in recent months and is commercially focused, forward-thinking and one that interacts with all the operational teams, customers, and vendors. The team are expected to be hands-on and focused on process efficiencies and business support/improvement under the direction of the Financial Controller. The interaction with the business is key and creates a unique opportunity for the right candidate to develop and progress in a growing and demanding environment. Personal motivation, commitment, and a desire to learn/progress within the team and potentially the wider Group are essential.

Role Responsibilities

Key responsibilities will include but not limited to:

  • Sales and cost of sales analysis – accrued income, deferred income, cost of sales and WIP accounting
  • Job costing/margin analysis
  • Assisting in the production of the group management accounts
  • Departmental reporting
  • Accruals, prepayments and balance sheet reconciliations
  • Financial analysis and investigation of variances against the budget
  • Provide support as required for external audits
  • VAT reporting
  • Assisting with monthly payroll
  • Provide cover for Financial Controller
  • Aid other departments as required

Skills & Experience

Key Skills and Experience would include but not limited to:

  • Ideally you will be either AAT Qualified with a desire to study ACCA or CIMA or you will be ACCA or CIMA Part Qualified
  • Good knowledge of Sage software
  • Proficient user of Office 365
  • At least 12 months of experience in a similar role
  • Able to work on own initiative and has strong attention to detail
  • Proven track record of achieving deadlines
  • Experience of excellent communication with internal and external stakeholders
