VCG are looking for an Azure Engineer who will join our Cloud Services team and deliver customer engineering for cloud-to-cloud and on-premise to cloud migrations. You will be able to attend presales meetings and scoping calls, with the potential to progress to a presales or senior engineering role. The main aspects of this role are delivering Azure Solutions, and working either independently or with a larger team. Migrating customers from on-premise to Azure, and designing cost-effective Azure Solutions is essential for this role. You will get support from the Datacentre Team and Cloud Services Team with internal and external training, technical escalation points, and on-site engineering support.

Job Overview

VCG are looking for an Azure Engineer, who will join our Cloud Services team and deliver customer engineering for cloud-to-cloud and on-premise to cloud migrations. You will be able to attend presales meetings and scoping calls, with the potential to progress to a presales or senior engineering role.

The main aspects of this role are delivering Azure Solutions, and working either independently or with a larger team. Migrating customers from on-premise to Azure, and designing cost-effective Azure Solutions is essential for this role. You will get support from the Datacentre Team and Cloud Services Team with internal and external training, technical escalation points, and on-site engineering support.

Because of the team size, this role requires that the successful candidate can do consultancy and professional services work, as well as occasional customer meetings and internal project support.

VCG’s success depends on engaging directly with our customers, explaining our technology and product portfolio, and positioning it to both business and technical users. You will often be the main technical contact point between a customer and VCG, so this role demands that you have excellent technical knowledge, good customer facing skills and good commercial awareness.

Role Responsibilities

Key responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

  • Scoping of engineering solutions
  • Working on customer site delivering Scoped projects.
  • Interacting with the VCG Sales team and customers to ensure maximum customer satisfaction.
  • Adhere to the Company’s Quality and Business Processes
  • Maintaining and improving technically through certification, both on a personal and company level

Skills & Experience

Key Skills and Experience would include but not limited to:

  • Experience in a customer facing support environment
  • Experience in working in an MSP environment
  • Experience in completing Microsoft Cloud Migrations
  • Strong interest in cloud technologies, Compute, Backup, Security.
  • Comfortable working with hosting technologies including Azure, VMware, HyperV and network storage systems.
  • Ability to develop effective working relationships internally at a variety of levels and work closely with commercial departments such as sales, operations and Project Management Office
  • It is essential to have a valid UK driving license

Required Qualifications – any one of the following:

Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Associate
Microsoft Certified: Solutions Associate: Office 365 (MCSA)
Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect

Advantageous Skills

Any Knowledge or understanding of any of the following would be advantageous:

  • Server 2016/2019
  • Service Migration Experience
  • SkyKick / BitTitan Migration Wiz
  • Microsoft Azure Security
