Job Overview

VCG are looking for an enthusiastic and driven individual to join our team as a Microsoft Modern Workplace Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and supporting Microsoft solutions that enable modern ways of working. You will have a strong focus on delivering customer projects across the Modern Workplace technology stack, ensuring high-quality outcomes and customer satisfaction. You will also provide technical support and guidance to existing customers, as well as assist senior engineering with pre-sales activities and scoping of new opportunities, the progression for this role would be into either senior engineering or Presales roles.

You will have a passion for learning and keeping up to date with the latest Microsoft technologies and best practices. You will have excellent communication and collaboration skills, and be able to work effectively with both internal and external stakeholders. You will also have a proactive and professional attitude, and be committed to delivering excellence in everything you do.

VCG’s success depends on engaging directly with our customers, explaining our technology and product portfolio, and positioning it to both business and technical users. You will often be the main technical contact point between a customer and VCG, so this role demands that you have excellent technical knowledge, good customer-facing skills and good commercial awareness.

Role Responsibilities:

Key responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

  • Scoping of Microsoft Cloud Services and Solutions.
  • Working on customer sites, delivering Scoped projects.
  • Interacting with the VCG Sales team and customers to ensure maximum customer satisfaction.
  • Adhere to the Company’s Quality and Business Processes.
  • Maintaining and improving technically through certification, both on a personal and company level.

Skills & Experience:

Key Skills and Experience would include but not limited to:

  • Experience in a customer-facing support environment.
  • Experience in working in an MSP environment.
  • Experience in completing Microsoft Cloud Migrations.
  • Strong interest in cloud technologies, Compute, Backup, and Security.
  • Ability to develop effective working relationships internally at a variety of levels and work closely with commercial departments such as Sales, Operations and Project Management.
  • It is essential to have a valid UK driving license.

Required Qualifications – any one of the following:

  • Microsoft 365 Certified: Administrator Expert
  • Exam MS-102: Microsoft 365 Administrator (Or Equivalent)
  • Microsoft Certified: Solutions Associate: Teams Administrator Associate
  • Microsoft Certified: Solutions Associate: Office 365 (MCSA)

Advantageous Skills:

Any Knowledge or understanding of any of the following would be advantageous:

  • Microsoft Licensing Knowledge
  • SkyKick / BitTitan Migration Wiz
  • Power Automate/Power Platform
  • SharePoint Migration and Design
